Patronage

It is included in the Register of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria under № 1. It is the first officially registered patronage organization in the country.

The building of the Berlin Wall Memorial in Sofia is the first successfully realized project according to the Patronage Act. In this particular case the patron is WAZ Media Group - Bulgaria LP, and the receiver of the free aid - Sofia Municipality.

In accordance with the Patronage Act the Heritage Foundation:
- cooperates in defining the type and value of free aid, the manner and terms of its granting from the patrons for the creation of:

1. literary works and translations of literary works;
2. publicistic works;
3. musical compositions and records of musical compositions;
4. arrangements of musical and folklore compositions;
5. stage works;
6. films and other audio- and audio-visual works;
7. works of art including works of the applied art, design and folk-art crafts;
8. works of architecture;
9. works of artistic and documentary photography;
10. works of art created with the help of computer programs;
11. performances of actors;
12. restoration and socialization of architectural and archeological monuments.
- grants free assistance on behalf of patrons;
- exercises control over the fulfillment of the patron's will;
- gives the patrons and Minister of culture information about the expenditure of the granted free aid;

The Heritage Foundation cooperates in concluding contracts between the patron and the receiver of the free aid and personally guarantees for their fulfillment. Copies of the contracts are submitted to Minister of culture.

The Heritage Foundation rejects concluding a contract in case the patron's will is unrealizable or contradicting the aims of the law and the good manners or when the free aid is granted under apparently unsuitable conditions or conditions questioning the fulfillment of the contract.

When the patron does not make explicit the receiver of the free aid, then the choice is made after a public competition organized by the Heritage Foundation under the conditions and order stipulated in its internal rules (Правила).

The sponsors of the projects of the Heritage Foundation have the right of special tax relief according to the Law for Corporative Income Taxes and the Law for Taxation of the Income of Physical Persons (линкове)
